Awakened By The Spirit

Joel 2:28-31 (NIV)
““And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.”
Devotion

In Joel 2:28-31, God promises a remarkable outpouring of His Spirit on all people—young and old, men and women, servants and free—where dreams and visions will flourish. This isn’t just a future event; God’s Spirit is available now to anyone who calls on Him, breaking barriers of age or status. 

Pastor Jentezen and Mark Pentecost echoed this in their interview, declaring that God plants dreams in every heart—not just for you, but for others too. God-inspired dreams aren’t out of selfish ambitions; they’re stirrings from God, meant to bless others and change the world. Remember that dreams often start small but grow with faith and action. Mark left his previous profession at 34 because a dream stirred within him, showing that God’s Spirit can awaken us to step out in faith, even when it’s risky. 

So, what dream is stirring in you today? Trust that the same Spirit Joel spoke of is alive in you, ready to guide you to a “whole ‘nother level” for His glory.


Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for pouring out Your Spirit on all people. I invite Your presence to awaken the dreams You’ve placed in my heart. Help me to discern Your voice and trust Your leading, even when the path seems uncertain. Let my dreams reflect Your purpose and bring blessings to others. May I walk in faith, believing that Your Spirit will guide and empower me. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today

Ask God to reveal or reignite the dreams He has placed within you. Write down what comes to mind, no matter how small or impossible it seems. Then, consider one step of faith you can take this week to move closer to that dream, trusting the Spirit’s guidance.
