Chosen Generation

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

Devotion

We must be intentional worshippers. There is a blessing in being chosen by God and being part of a congregation that serves Him and worships Him with all its heart. Worship is not passive; it means giving God your praise, your devotion, and your whole heart.

As God’s people, we are saved and satisfied in Christ. The Bible says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)

We have been redeemed to live according to the Spirit and not according to the desires of the flesh. The Bible also calls us a chosen generation. A generation is meant to generate something. Therefore, as a chosen generation, we should generate faith, holiness, worship, and a passion for God in our time.

Young people, be encouraged to be passionate about God, not merely about songs. Your passion should not stop at the music; it should lead you to a deeper relationship with the One you worship. God is worthy of our praise, our devotion, and our lives.

Today's Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

You desire a people who will worship You in spirit and in truth. I want a deeper walk with You. Teach me how and what it means to worship You in this way. I lay down the things that keep me from loving You with all of my heart. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today

Praise and worship unto Jesus our Lord is the one thing we can give Him that He did not already have. As we lift up an offering, let it be given freely as an expression of our love for Him. It is born from our relationship with Him and is not forced. It comes naturally. So go deeper, and praise will flow.
