Crowned For Worship

Sunday, February 9

Revelation 4:4 (NIV)
“Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads.”
Devotion
Heaven is a place of unceasing worship. In John’s vision, the twenty-four elders, clothed in white and crowned with gold, sit in the presence of God’s throne. Just a few verses later, we see them laying their crowns before Him, declaring His worthiness (Revelation 4:10-11). This is a beautiful image of complete surrender and devotion—one that begins here on earth.

We were created to worship. Worship is more than a song we sing on Sundays; it is a lifestyle of honoring God in all we do. Whether in our work, relationships, or daily routines, our hearts should be postured toward Him. Making Him the center of our lives now prepares us for the eternal worship we will experience in His presence.

If the elders, clothed in glory, still cast their crowns before the Lord, how much more should we? Every achievement, blessing, and possession we hold should be laid at His feet in worship. He alone is worthy. When we fix our hearts on worship, we step into the very purpose for which we were created—both now and forever.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
You are worthy of all honor and praise. I lay down my desires, my family, my relationships, my plans, and my accomplishments before You. May my life reflect a heart of worship, not just in moments of singing, but in every decision and action. Teach me to live with eternity in mind, always centered on You. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
