Draw Near, And He Will Meet You

2 Chronicles 15:2,4 (NIV)

“He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.

Devotion

One of the greatest promises in Scripture is that God never ignores a heart that sincerely seeks Him. In 2 Chronicles 15:2, the prophet Azariah reminded King Asa and the people of Judah that God's presence is experienced by those who intentionally pursue Him. This wasn't a promise based on perfection—it was a promise based on pursuit.

God has always been faithful to His covenant. He never fails to uphold His Word. Our responsibility is to remain faithful in seeking Him, trusting Him, and honoring the commitments we've made to Him. As we draw near to Him, He faithfully draws near to us.

In Sunday's message, Pastor Franklin reminded us that God always fulfills His part when we remain faithful to ours. He shared how the incredible impact of this year's Forward Conference wasn't simply the result of years of experience or past success. Instead, it was the fruit of continually seeking God, praying, fasting, and refusing to become familiar with His presence. The ministry leadership understood that yesterday's encounters with God could never replace today's pursuit of Him.

It's easy to become comfortable after experiencing God's blessings. We can begin relying on what worked before instead of seeking the One who gave the breakthrough in the first place. But God desires a fresh relationship with us every day. He invites us to pursue Him with renewed hunger, knowing that He faithfully responds to every heart that earnestly seeks Him.

Whatever season you're in today, don't allow routine, past victories, or life's distractions to replace intentional time with the Lord. He is waiting to meet with you. Every moment spent in His presence is never wasted, and every sincere prayer is heard by a faithful Father.

Today's Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness. Thank You that when I seek You with all my heart, You promise to be found by me. Guard my heart from becoming familiar or complacent in my walk with You. Help me to remain faithful in prayer, in Your Word, and in my commitment to You. Draw me closer to You each day as I intentionally draw near to You. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today

Set aside distractions, open God’s Word, spend time in prayer, and simply enjoy His presence. Don't rely on yesterday's relationship with God, pursue Him afresh today, trusting that He will faithfully meet you there.
