The life of Jesus sets a beautiful pattern for us: growth is not only spiritual but holistic. As a young boy, Jesus increased in wisdom, physical maturity, and favor with both God and man. This verse reminds us that favor is not something you can manufacture through sheer effort alone, it’s a gift God grants as we walk faithfully with Him.

In this week’s At The Movies, we watched the movie A Million Miles Away, where we see this truth unfold through the remarkable story of José Hernández, the son of migrant farm workers who dreamed of becoming an astronaut. His journey to NASA wasn’t just a matter of intellect and hard work, although he had plenty of both, but of doors opening through unexpected favor. José didn’t grow up in an environment where space travel was the norm, yet God surrounded him with people who saw his potential and gave him opportunities to grow.

Like José, you may find yourself feeling a million miles away from your dream. But know this: as you commit your ways to the Lord and remain faithful, He will help you grow in wisdom and maturity, and He will grant you favor with the right people at the right time. Favor is the secret ingredient that positions you where your own resume and resources can’t.

When you walk in integrity, remain diligent, and trust Him, God will open doors you never could open for yourself. He can cause teachers to notice you, mentors to invest in you, and decision-makers to advocate for you. Don’t lose heart if you feel unseen, remember that Jesus himself modeled a life of growing into favor.

So today, trust that your hidden seasons matter. Every long mile in the field, every silent sacrifice, every unseen effort, God sees it all. And when the time is right, He will bring you into spaces where His favor with man propels you closer to the dream He planted in your heart.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the example of Jesus, who grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with You and with people. Help me to walk faithfully in every season, trusting that You see every sacrifice and hidden effort. Grant me favor beyond what I could earn or imagine. Surround me with people who will notice, encourage, and open doors that align with Your purpose for my life. In the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

 

Stay diligent and faithful this week, and intentionally thank God for the doors He’s already opened and those He’s preparing to open. Watch for moments where His favor is working on your behalf, and write them down as reminders that He is with you on the journey.
