Jesus, The Rock of All Ages

Acts of the Apostles 4:11-12 (NLT)For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

Devotion

There is no other name but Jesus. He alone has the power to save us. Not Buddha. Not Muhammad. Not any other created being. His name is above other names, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV) He is our firm foundation. Jesus is the Rock of all ages. We are to: “Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.” (Isaiah 26:4 NLT) He never changes. We can rely on Him to save us in times of need. He is Ebenezer, the rock. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 NKJV)

Have you ever marveled at how the universe, heaven, and earth were formed, how the moon and stars shine at night, and how the sun rises in the east and sets in the west?

Jesus is the Word made flesh. He was there at the beginning, and will be there at the end. He is seated at the right hand of God and He will judge the living and the dead. Jesus said: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (Revelation 22:13 NKJV) He is the manifest presence of God. By His Word, all things came to be. And because He loves us, God sent His Son Jesus to save us. “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV)

When life becomes overwhelming and we worry about the future or fear the things happening around us, we have the Lord Jesus to help us through every storm, every addiction, and every abuse. We take every thought captive in His name and apply the blood of Jesus upon us, upon our families and upon our nation. The Lord Himself will fight our battles. We need only to surrender all to Him. To cast all our cares upon His feet. And by faith receive His redemptive love and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

Today's Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I acknowledge your sovereignty over my life. I surrender all to you, Lord. Only in Jesus do I trust. I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. I know nothing is too difficult for you and your hand is not too short to save.

Forgive me if I have tried to do things my way and failed many times over. You are My Rock of all Ages, My Firm Foundation, and I put my trust in you. From everlasting to everlasting, You are God and You never change. I love You Lord and I thank you for all You have done and continue to do for me, for my family, and for my nation. This is my prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Apply It Today

There is no other name more powerful, more worthy of praise than Jesus. He alone saves. He alone can turn our lives around and restore beauty from ashes. He turns our mourning into dancing and makes our feet like the feet of a deer and enables us to climb the heights! He is our Lord and Savior, Redeemer, Counselor, our Prince of Peace, and the Lover of our souls. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” (Ephesians 3:20 KJV) - Lord Jesus, we declare victory over our lives and over our circumstances! We have received God’s help today. He is the God of new beginnings, and He never fails!
