Let the Spirit Be Seen Through Our Living
Thursday, April 2
Luke 3:22 (NKJV)
“And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
Devotion
When Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, showing that God’s presence had come upon Him.
A dove is fitting as the bodily form of the Holy Spirit—pure, full of peace, gentle, and set apart—just like the way Jesus lived His life here on earth.
In the same way, the presence of the Holy Spirit should be evident in our own lives. We should be pure, full of peace, gentle, and set apart. By choosing to live by the Holy Spirit daily, in due time He will become easy to distinguish, identify, and recognize.
The way we live, the places we go, the words we speak, and the way we conduct ourselves should reflect that we are led by and live through the Holy Spirit.
As we deepen our daily devotion, reverence, and holy discipline, the presence of the Holy Spirit becomes more evident in our lives to everyone around us.
When we make His presence our priority, we are transformed by Him, and our lives become a reflection of His glory for others to see.
May our daily discipline and reverence for the Holy Spirit stir in others a desire to seek Him for themselves and know His presence in their own lives.
Let us continue to prioritize the presence of the LORD in our lives, so that we may live pure, peaceful, and gentle lives set apart for His glory—and, through our lives, influence those around us to seek Him as well.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Your Spirit to live in us. Teach me to walk with You in peace and unity. I need You to transform my life so I can shine as a bright light, and others may be touched by Your glory. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
1 Corinthians 6:11 tells us, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
It is by the Holy Spirit that sanctification comes, so it is beneficial for us to walk closely with Him daily. His promptings, revealing of truth, and leading will change how we conduct ourselves, separating us from the ways of this world so others can see Jesus.
