Our Loving Father Who Provides

Exodus 33:17 (NKJV)
“And the Lord said to Moses, ‘I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.’”
Devotion
Sometimes we make mistakes and fall short of God’s expectations. In those moments, the devil rushes to whisper lies into our minds, saying that God is done with us, that we are beyond help. If we are not careful, we might start to believe these lies and live under guilt, fear, and condemnation. But the God we worship, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is not a ruthless judge eager to punish us. He is a loving Father who wants only the best for His children.
The Bible says in Psalm 103:13, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” His grace is unmerited favor. When we are in right standing with Him through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, His grace covers us, and we can confidently ask Him for anything we need.
Imagine a small child walking through a supermarket with his father. As they pass by the toy section, the child sees a toy he loves and starts crying and pleading for it. Even if the father had no intention of buying toys that day, because it is his beloved child asking, he is moved to buy it. Why? Because fathers love to give good things to their children. Jesus confirmed this truth in Matthew 7:9-11, “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
Whatever you want in your life today, picture God as a loving Father who will do anything to meet your needs. Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” If God gave His only Son for you, there is absolutely nothing He will withhold when it aligns with His will and purpose for your life.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before Your throne and ask that You forgive my sins, both those I have done knowingly and unknowingly. Please write my name in the Book of Life. Help me to always see You as my loving Father who desires to give me good things. Strengthen my faith to ask boldly and to trust that if You did not spare Your own Son, You will graciously meet all my needs according to Your will. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
