Our Source Is In Heaven

2 Samuel 23:16-17 (NKJV)
“So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the LORD. And he said, “Far be it from me, O LORD, that I should do this! Is this not the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives?” Therefore he would not drink it. These things were done by the three mighty men.”
Devotion
As Christians, we are called to drink from the Living Water that never runs dry—the water that comes from God Himself. Unlike the temporary satisfaction the world offers, this water fills our souls completely and eternally.
David refused the water drawn at great risk by his mighty men, recognizing that true life and sustenance come from God alone. Similarly, we should not be consumed by worldly desires or envy, chasing after things that cannot truly satisfy. When we drink from God’s Living Water, our souls are quenched, our spirits are renewed, and we find salvation and peace that surpass understanding.
Whatever challenges we face—whether debt, worry, or trials—we can be confident that God’s provision is more than enough. There is a river of Living Water flowing from heaven, freely available to all who seek Him. Do not let the distractions of this world clog the well of your heart. Keep it pure, focused on God, and filled with His eternal life.
In God, we lack nothing. In Him, we fear nothing. And no matter what comes our way, He will sustain us. Drink deeply, and let His Living Water refresh, restore, and empower you every day.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,

I will finish my race. I will hold onto eternal life. Neither You nor the faithful ones died in vain. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
