Success Isn’t The Point

Jeremiah 24:6-7 (NLT)
“I will watch over and care for them, and I will bring them back here again. I will build them up and not tear them down. I will plant them and not uproot them. I will give them hearts that recognize me as the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly.”
Devotion
A common life scenario is drifting from our relationship with God to chase the world’s idea of success. In all that success, we find ourselves afraid of losing it all. Lost in crowds that never truly saw us, alone despite constant connection, rootless with no place that feels like home, stripped of our identity beyond comprehension, and always longing for something deeper-something we had once known, but left behind.
In Jeremiah 24:6-7 we see that God hasn’t given up on us. In His mercy, He protects and cares for us. Even if we have walked away. He’s still calling us back, not to punish us but to restore us with changed hearts that will acknowledge Him as LORD. God doesn’t want a surface-level relationship, He wants a real relationship with us. We will be His and He will be ours. When we return to God, it’s in spirit, with love in every heart beat, devotion and a deep-rooted belonging in Him.
In the end, our true success isn’t found in the fleeting world’s hollow applause, but in the steady, unshakable love of God. Though we may wander, God’s mercy remains—inviting us back into a relationship that restores, steadies, and establishes us. When we respond to His call with open hearts, we rediscover our identity, our purpose, and we are home where we truly belong.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your mercy that never gives up on me. Forgive me for the times I’ve chased the world’s version of success and drifted from You. Create in me a heart that longs for You above all else. Draw me back into a deeper relationship with You, where my identity, purpose, and true belonging are found. Help me to live every day rooted in Your love and guided by Your will.
Apply It Today
Take time today to examine where you’ve been chasing success apart from God. Surrender those areas to Him in prayer and intentionally carve out time this week to reconnect with Him, whether through worship, journaling, or reading His Word, making Him your true source of identity and fulfillment.
