The Abundance Of God’s Blessings
Friday, April 4
Deuteronomy 28:12 (NKJV)
“The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”
Devotion
This story illustrates the promise in Deuteronomy 28:12. When we trust in God's provision, He blesses us abundantly. The blessings we receive are not just for our own benefit but to uplift and support others. Samuel's faith and hard work brought blessings to his community, reminding us of the power of God's promises.
Genesis 32 tells the story of Jacob and how he wrestled with God and how he persistently prayed, for weeks, until he received his blessing. He not only prayed for his blessing but for all that God could provide. Jacob asked for an abundance, more than, over and above. His fervency demonstrated his belief that God would grant it to him, and God granted Jacob to the full extent of his request.
In Sunday's interview, both Mark Pentecost and Pastor Franklin emphasized the importance of dreaming. Some people, accustomed to a works mentality, often feel that their dreams will never come true. However, Mark and Pastor Franklin reminded the congregation that the body of Christ must find that dream, believe that God will fulfill that dream, and ask God to fulfill that dream.
God has an abundance of good things for His children and is waiting for them to not only ask but to believe He will give them to us.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being a God of abundance, who delights in blessing His children. Help me to trust in Your provision and to believe that You have good things in store for me. Increase my faith to ask boldly, like Jacob, and to persist in prayer until I see Your promises fulfilled. May the blessings You pour into my life not only sustain me but also allow me to be a blessing to others. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
Just as Jacob wrestled in prayer and refused to let go until he received his blessing, we too must be persistent in seeking God's abundance. This week, take time to pray specifically for the dreams and desires God has placed in your heart. Write them down, declare His promises over them, and trust that He will provide in His perfect timing.
