The Fast: DAY 14
Saturday, January 17
Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV)
“Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”
Devotion
In Pastor Franklin's message on Sunday, he spoke of how Elijah's servant kept looking for a rain cloud. The seventh time, his servant saw a cloud the size of a man's hand rising from the sea. He also spoke of prophetic declarations spoken into our lives. Elijah prophetically declared the rain and spoke it into existence, and there was no rain in Israel for three and a half years. This was a miracle that only God could accomplish through Elijah.
If Elijah could cause it to rain, then what can we do when we accept the vision given to us? We, too, can speak our visions into existence if we truly believe. Do we believe that God can still do miracles? Are we praying every day? Are we sowing seeds for future generations? Do we take the time to read His Word, and are we putting Him first through fasting? Are we hungry for His Word and for His kingdom?
Pastor Franklin also said that the more worship and praise we offer, the more of His glory and blessings fall from heaven. God's timing is not the same as ours. In 2 Peter 3:8, it says, "With the Lord, one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." God is not in any hurry, and neither should we be. The time you spend praying, fasting, and worshiping makes a difference to Him. He wants your full attention.
So let us look up to the heavens and pray fervently, as Elijah did. Let us believe that God will make great things happen, not only for us but for the generations who follow us. Persevere and don’t faint; it will come to pass.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to trust Your timing and remain faithful to the vision You’ve placed in my heart. Teach me to persevere, to stay consistent in prayer, and to keep speaking Your promises over my life. Let me see Your hand move in ways only You can, and use my obedience to bless the generations that follow. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
Commit to one intentional action today that moves your vision forward, whether it’s praying, declaring it aloud, or taking a practical step toward it. Trust God’s timing, remain patient, and stay faithful, knowing that what He has promised will come to pass.
