The God That Has An Answer

1 John 5:14 (ESB)
“And if we know that he hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked of him.”
Devotion

Life comes in highs and lows; sunshine and storms. In the midst of the lows, God hears our cries, questions of why, our desperate call for His loving, peaceful Spirit to flow over us. In our highs, He hears our praise - thanking Him for all the good and all the times He’s taken you out of the lows and into the highs.

In 1 John 5:15, God’s word provides a loving reminder that He hears us whenever we come to Him in prayer. This verse is a call for us to keep in our minds and hearts when another storm of life approaches. When we have faith in Him, we know that whatever we ask we will receive just how Matthew 7:7-8 tells us. When you are stuck in a valley, praying and asking, have faith because what He has done for you in the past, He will most certainly do for you in the present.

He is a God of promise and certainty. He is unchanging. So, today, if you have been or are just starting to ask God to hear your prayer … He hears you, He loves you, and He will answer you.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for always hearing me when I call. In my highs and my lows, You are constant and faithful. Help me to trust in Your promises and remember that You are the God who answers. When I face challenges, may I lean on Your Word and find peace in knowing that You are near. Strengthen my faith and remind me that Your answers are always for my good. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today

This week, take time each day to pray and thank God for both the highs and the lows in your life. Reflect on past moments when He answered your prayers and write them down as a reminder of His faithfulness. Trust that just as He has answered before, He will answer again.
