Wisdom Walks
Thursday, April 3
Proverbs 13:20 (NKJV)
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
Devotion
Solomon is specific about what he writes. The people we spend time with have influence over who we become.
It’s wise to keep this in mind, because it’s not just our own choices that matter; the choices of the people around us matter too. 1 Corinthians 15:33 adds further wisdom “Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”” Bad influences can lead to poor choices. Proverbs 12:26 adds more clarity, “The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray.” We have to make tough decisions about our associations especially in seasons of carrying out a God-given dream.
Let us avoid relationships that hinder our growth, and focus on building wise relationships, not only for our own benefit or for those around us, but because it's what God calls us to do.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the wisdom in Your Word that guides my steps. Help me to walk with those who honor You and to build relationships that draw me closer to Your purpose for my life. Give me discernment to recognize unhealthy influences and the courage to walk away from anything that hinders my spiritual growth. Surround me with people who uplift, challenge, and encourage me in righteousness. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
