Worship Before The Battle
Thursday, May 22
2 Chronicles 20:21 (NKJV)
“And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.”
Devotion
Worship is the act of honoring God with reverence, love, and devotion. It is not limited to singing or attending church services. Worship is a lifestyle that expresses our recognition of God’s holiness and sovereignty. At the heart of worship is surrender and trust in the One who created us.
We were made to worship God. Revelation 4:11 reminds us that all of creation exists for His glory. When we truly worship, we align ourselves with the purpose for which we were made.
In the Bible, worship often preceded great victories. When King Jehoshaphat faced a vast army, he chose to lead his people into battle with praise. Instead of weapons, the front line was filled with worshippers singing to God. The result was astonishing as God caused confusion among the enemies, and they destroyed each other. Victory came through worship.
The fall of Jericho’s walls also followed a pattern of worship and obedience. The Israelites marched, blew trumpets, and shouted in faith. The walls collapsed without a single physical blow. Paul and Silas worshipped in prison. God responded with an earthquake that opened the doors and set them free.
These examples show that worship is a powerful spiritual weapon. When we choose to worship instead of worry, God moves in ways we cannot imagine.

Teach me to worship You in truth and in spirit. Even in my battles, remind me to lift up Your name with a sincere heart. Fight for me, Lord, as I choose to praise You. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
