Worship The Lord In Spirit And In Truth!

John 4:22-24 (NKJV)

“You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Devotion

God loves you. Even if you were the only one left, our Heavenly Father would still send His one and only Son—Jesus—to save you.

The story of the Samaritan woman at the well illustrates how far Jesus would go to save a lost soul. She was living in sin. She was there, drawing water in the noonday sun. Yet Jesus knew she would be there. He walked toward her, telling her everything she ever did, and she knew He was different. Jews never associated with Samaritans—and a woman at that! The encounter changed her, and she ran to the village and told everyone about Jesus. She had a change of heart because she met Jesus, who said: “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” Rivers of Living Water flowed that day, and she was able to drink deeply from the water of eternal life.

No longer is worship confined to synagogues or temples. Through Jesus Christ, we can call on the Father wherever we are. He is near, attentive, and ready to hear the cry of every heart. We are the temple of the living God.

The God of the universe left His deity to dwell among us and show us the way. Jesus is the manifestation of the Triune God—Father, Son, and Spirit. He came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Jesus showed us that we must worship God in spirit and in truth. Idle and repetitive prayers are worthless. He sees our hearts. He knows everything about us. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

We do not need to hide. We do not need to keep pretending everything is okay when it is not.

Come as you are. Let God be God, and let Him heal all your diseases, set you free from all addiction, restore all that you have lost, and give you a reason to live and flourish. Our God, who created the heavens and the earth, came to set you free from the law of sin and death. When you accept the Lord Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, He restores you and gives you hope.

Some people spend their lifetime chasing dreams and pursuing vain ambitions. We are just passing through. Our destination is heavenward.

“Today, when you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.” Sing a joyful noise unto the Lord and worship Him, the One, True, Living God!

Today's Prayer

Show me Your glory. I desire to do Your will and worship You in Spirit and in Truth. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
