Be Accountable With What He Gives You
Saturday, February 14
Psalm 94:9 (NIV)
“Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?”
Devotion
According to Pastor Franklin’s message on Sunday, the greatest thing we can give someone is our attention. Look someone in the eyes when they are talking to us. Let them know that they are important enough to be heard. Don’t look all around or at your phone. Pay attention to them. Families no longer talk at the dinner table. Instead, each member of the family is looking at their phone. Are we ignoring God in the same way, spending only a few minutes with Him in the morning and then forgetting Him?
Are you seeking the Lord’s face as it says in Scripture? Psalm 27:8 tells us to seek His face, and that our heart’s response should be, “Your face, Lord, I do seek.” Do you think about spending time with Him when you wake up? Is He your first priority in the morning? God longs to hear our voices speak to Him. Do we rejoice over Him the way He rejoices over us? This speaks of a God who longs to be near His people. Be accountable with what He gives you, whether it is talents, time, money, or gifts.
God longs to bless us and give us an abundant life. He wants to protect us and watch over us, but He can’t do that when we don’t show up—when He waits for us and we are preoccupied with our phones, television, or books. Imagine the disappointment He feels. He delights in us and longs to shower us with blessings. He longs to favor us with His grace and peace. We are blessed with all the heavenly blessings, as the Apostle Paul wrote. Is not part of His favor and blessing freedom from sin? Has He not promised not only to watch over us but also to provide for us? Why, then, do we not spend more time in His presence?
The more time we spend with Him, the more His blessings and favor will be upon us. Surely this also means that we will have great confidence because we seek His face, not just the gifts He bestows on us. Let us go and seek His face and talk to Him face to face, as Moses did.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being a God who sees me and hears me. Forgive me for the times I have been distracted and have not given You the attention You deserve. Help me to be faithful and accountable with the time, talents, and gifts You have entrusted to me. Stir in my heart a deeper desire to seek Your face each day and to enjoy Your presence. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
Set aside a daily, distraction-free time with God this week, even if it’s just 10–15 minutes, and treat it like a non-negotiable appointment. Put your phone away, open Scripture, and talk to Him intentionally.

- Reminder: In Scripture, seeking God’s face represents pursuing relationship, not just blessings. It’s intimacy over transaction.
