Luke 8:1-3
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.
Devotion
When we are part of the body of Christ, we all are a part of the ministry. Everywhere we go, we are a walking representation of Christ. Jesus accepts and calls all people, regardless of background, past sins or the sins you are still struggling with. God does not call the qualified, but He qualifies the called.
We can stand in amazement thinking of a Father that would choose us, knowing all of our weaknesses, imperfections, and shortcomings. We are the church, and it is time for us to step up and proclaim the good news of the Kingdom no matter what it costs us.
James reminds us to count it all joy when we are persecuted for the Lord. Let’s all take part in more Kingdom work today and live in light of the fact that we were hand-picked by the King of Kings!
