Psalm 37:5 (KJV)
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Devotion
In this verse, David is urging us to commit our entire journey in life to the Lord. Whatever we choose to do in our daily lives, we should dedicate it to God, trusting that He will guide us through. It's easy to say "God's got us," but in order for God to truly have us, we need to walk in a manner that is pleasing to Him. This means committing ourselves fully to Him and trusting in His guidance.
We must understand that even when we fall short, God will still see us through. As long as we, as children of God, commit our works and ways unto the Lord, He will not only bring our plans to fruition but also reward us by helping us overcome the trials and tribulations that the enemy throws our way. He will bring our efforts to light.
Furthermore, committing our way to the Lord involves more than just actions; it includes our thoughts, intentions, and desires. We need to align our goals with His will and trust in His timing. This requires patience and unwavering faith, knowing that God’s plans for us are far greater than we can imagine.
In essence, David in today’s scripture is reminding us that a life committed to God is a life of trust and faith. By placing our trust in Him and committing our ways to Him, we can be assured that He will lead us, protect us, and ultimately bring our endeavors to successful completion.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
As I surrender and commit all my ways to You, Lord, I believe that You will see me through any and all circumstances. Lead me and guide me according to Your ways, immediately convicting me when I get off the path that leads to You. Certainly, I long to live that I may receive all Your promises, but above that, Father, I long to please You. Please guide me and use me in accordance with Your perfect will. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
