Confused Lately?

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Know the Real Enemy
When heated conflicts, strife and division enter our lives, it is easy to feel betrayed and confused over the turmoil. Know this – that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33) Identify the real enemy. There is an adversary controlling demonic activity, lurking in the shadows, attempting to steal the peace and joy God wants you to have. He intends to kill and destroy the life and the good things God has prepared for you to walk in.
The Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to “be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life.” (2 Timothy 2:1,3) In other words, when the words start to fly, stop for a minute. Pause and see as God sees. Strife and unforgiveness blinds our hearts, so that we cannot see the real truth nor the possibilities or the miracles God wants to do for you, your family, your relationships and your nation.

You Can Do Something
  • “Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary, the devil, walks about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8,9) Be alert and do not be caught unawares when the fiery darts start to fly. Resist the devil, be steadfast in the faith.
  • Do not be overtaken by strife. Do not be lured into the dialogue. For the servant of the Lord must not strive, but is gentle to all, able to teach and patient.
  • Know the Word of God. It is a sure foundation to steady your feet. It is the lamp that will light your path. It will help you discern what you are seeing. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
  • Pray. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (natural), but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:3,4) It is the effective, fervent prayers of a righteous man that avails much.
  • Be a reconciler. We have been given the ministry of reconciliation. Be the light. You never know, but you may be the very one God wants to use to bring reconciliation to a person, a relationship, or a situation.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,

For Who You are, I offer You praise and thanksgiving. You are my rock and my strong tower, and because the enemy is seeking whom he may devour, I ask that You help me to be vigilant over my family and those over whom I have influence, as well as my own life. When hardships and strife come our way, help me be the one who leads with Your wisdom. Help me be the one who lifts each one up to You in prayer, and may I always be the one who brings reconciliation to each person and situation. Use me as Your servant, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
