Convincing Truth
Sunday, July 9
Romans 4:20-21 NKJV
He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
Devotion
It can be so easy to tell people in our church circles how much we believe and trust God, but sometimes in our hearts we are battling unbelief. The enemy wants us to think that we are alone in this battle, but we all struggle and we all doubt.
If we knew and understood everything, we wouldn’t need God. This is where our faith comes in. We cling to His promises and His truth because it is the only thing that never fails. If He’s done it before, He can do it again. We believe, but we have to pray for God to help our unbelief.
The evidence of His goodness is everywhere: in a sunset, in His love that shines through His people, & in His word. We sometimes just have to open our eyes a little wider to find it. Praise be to God for being the only one who will never fail us.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
The God who never fails, the one who is faithful from one generation to the next. I acknowledge your great power at work in my life today, and I will continue standing on your word for it is truth and life. I’ve seen you do it before I know I'll see you do it again. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Apply It Today
Think about all the most important things in your life. What are your worries concerning these things? What are you seeking to believe for but are doubting in your heart? Cast all of your burdens and your blessings at His feet. Tell God that you do believe, but pray that He would strengthen and help your unbelief. Allow your unbelief to stir a longing to dive deeper into His word and see how He proves His faithfulness time and time again!
