From Rubble To Glory

Saturday, December 9

Nehemiah 4:1-2 (NKJV)
“But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews. And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish—stones that are burned?”
Devotion
Amidst the critics and naysayers, focus on building and prospering. When Sanballat scoffed at a pile of rubble and asked what good could come from it, Nehemiah remained steadfast. He knew he was engaged in divine work, impervious to distractions. Instead of descending to engage in pointless debate, he remained dedicated to his task, acknowledging that his work was for the Lord.

Similarly, when faced with disparaging words from others, it's often a sign that you're operating on a higher plane. Wisdom lies in not stooping down to their level. Keep your ears tuned to your purpose, continue the work you were destined for, and allow God to rectify every situation. Maintain your momentum upward and forward.

What might appear as ruinous and desolate to human eyes, God perceives as opportunities for blessings. He has the power to turn the very things the enemy meant for harm into something remarkably good. What might seem like trash in the form of addiction, brokenness, or betrayal, God views as treasures waiting to be unearthed. He even declared that what the world discards as worthless will form the beautiful walls of salvation.

God's ability to repurpose and transform evil is unfathomable. He specializes in recycling what seems irredeemable, demonstrating that nothing is beyond His power to renew and make it valuable once again.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In moments of doubt and amidst the voices of dissent, grant me the strength to stand firm in my purpose. Like Nehemiah, help me to remain unwavering in my dedication to the task set before me, undeterred by skepticism or ridicule. Teach me to see through Your eyes, to recognize opportunities in what appears desolate and broken. Grant me the wisdom to discern Your hand at work, even in the most challenging circumstances. May I find solace in Your promise to turn what seems irreparable into something beautiful. Help me trust in Your ability to transform the discarded and broken parts of my life into treasures that reflect Your glory. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today
Just as Nehemiah didn’t allow mockery to deter him, consider criticism as a sign that you're operating at a higher level. Use it as an opportunity to refine your ideas and approaches rather than engaging in fruitless arguments.
