God has placed within each one of us a passion deep within our hearts, a longing to pursue that for which He has designed us. However, we often let fear get in the way, because we lack the faith we need to step out and use the gifts He has given us for His glory. Yet, 1 Peter 4:10 states that each one of us should use the gift we have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God.

Certainly, we should all be using our gifts and talents within our areas of influence, wherever we find ourselves. All we do should be a kingdom witness to others. But do you still have a longing deep within you that is God placed? What is your deepest passion? How can that be used for His glory? What is stopping you from fulfilling your God-given desire? Is it a lack of faith, by which it is impossible to please Him? 

So, how can we grow our faith and guard what God has put within us? In today’s featured verse, we are told, “ whoever draws near to God” must believe that He rewards those who seek Him. Often, we equate rewards as monetary gain, favor with man, or a large platform, but it is so much more. When we are in God’s will, He will absolutely supply our needs when we seek Him, but there is nothing that measures up to the joy and peace He gives when we are right in the center of His will, using our gifts and talents for Him. Even if the world is falling around us, we can live in God’s sweet assurance and be at peace.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You for placing Your call and purpose within me. I ask You to give me discernment in the choices I need to make so that I may pursue my purpose with all my heart. Please show me the specific path I need to take and give me the wisdom and courage to follow Your lead to wherever You take me, regardless what the conditions look like. I trust You with every provision as I step out in faith. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

In 2 Timothy 1:14 Paul tells Timothy, “By the Holy Spirit who dwells within you, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.” Today, begin drawing near to God and start guarding the good deposit that God, personally, has entrusted to you by pursuing Him and His call with a heart of passion.
