Healing For My Self Image

Saturday, April 15

I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 50:6
Devotion

Jesus bled from his face when he was struck and his beard pulled out. This blood of Jesus speaks healing to our fallen self-image. The world, the flesh, and the devil feeds us lies – “too fat, too dumb, too ugly, etc.” Under attack, we are tempted to deny who we are in God's image.

Genesis 1:27 testifies, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” If we ask, we will receive healing of our broken self-image and acceptance of God's love through the shed blood of Jesus.

Look into the mirror and see a beautiful child of God rather than the self-doubt and self-loathing brought by Satan's lies. Look into the mirror and see a beautiful child of God.

Today’s Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for loving me. You made me so wonderfully complex! It’s amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous. Open my eyes to the strengths, abilities, and talents that You have placed inside of me. Give me grace to find the good that is in me. Help me to be appreciative of who I am, instead of critical of who I am not. Amen!
