There is a phrase many are familiar with which says, “the survival of the fittest,” meaning only the strongest survive in situations. The implication is those who are weak cannot survive or advance in this world. However, the Bible says God uses things that seem to be foolish to demonstrate His power (1 Corinthians 1:27).  

Christ says his power works best in weakness. That statement seems contradictory to everything the world understands. How could something weak have power, much less the power of Christ? The apostle Paul says that he will boast about his weakness so that the power of Christ can work through him. God uses weakness to show His power so the result brings Him the glory, for no man could have accomplished it on his own. 

So let us not be fearful to let our own weakness show so the power of Christ may work best through us so that others may see it and glorify God.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I admit that I sometimes feel too weak to accomplish my daily tasks and to live in such a way that I am a witness to those around me, whatever that may look like day to day. Please help me to remember that it is in my weakness that I am made strong by You. Father, I ask that You give me Your strength for each task that I may accomplish each one with excellence. May You speak Your words through me as a witness, even in situations when I may be caught off guard. Let Your guidance be evident that You may receive the glory as You use me as Your servant. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Do you have the mindset that you are too weak to be used by God? Do you feel unprepared to be His witness in this dark world? Build yourself up with prayer and through a study of His Word, as you seek to be the vessel which He uses for His glory. Then go in His strength and wisdom and be His witness within your spheres of influence each and every day.
