In the Eyes of God, No Act is Insignificant

Psalm 78:70-71 (NIV)
“He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens; from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance.”
Devotion
Stay steadfast in the little things. Whether you're tidying up debris or caring for creatures in the wild or captivity, know that God sees and values your efforts. If life brings you year after year of struggle, don't lose hope. Instead, offer praise for the blessings you do have, for only God knows what lies ahead.

God's transformative power knows no bounds. He raised David, once a mere shepherd with a staff and flock, to the throne of a king. Never underestimate the importance of humble beginnings, for God acknowledges and rewards even the most modest of efforts.

Think of when God chose David over his older brothers for anointing, recognizing the purity of David's heart as he tended his flock. Your value is not determined by worldly accomplishments; no one is too insignificant for God's grand plans. He can work through anyone, regardless of lineage or status.

Persevere in prayer and in your daily tasks, for when you do, the Holy Spirit descends, sanctifying even the smallest deeds.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Oh, how I long to be called a person after Your own heart! I confess that I do have problems and setbacks with which I battle. Lord, as I linger with You and become a student of Your Word, I ask that You grant me wisdom, boldness, and strength to overcome those things that are keeping me from living with an upright heart. I will begin now by being faithful in the small things while, at the same time, growing my relationship with You. With gratitude, I pray in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Apply It Today
Would God, who knows your every thought and action, call you someone with an upright heart? Maybe you are a long way from there, or maybe you just have a few hang-ups that would keep Him from saying those words about you. Either way, what changes do you need to begin making today so that you will become a man or woman after God’s own heart? Begin today and see it through.
