Keep Hope Alive
Wednesday, June 21
Romans 8:28 NKJV
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Devotion
Do you know God has a specific purpose for your life? Does that thought overwhelm you because of past or present circumstances? Our focus verse tells us that God works everything, the good and the bad, for our benefit. Jeremiah 29:11 says His plans are for us to live with hope for our future. Biblical hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised, with its strength being in HIS faithfulness.
Were you raised without knowing God? There is hope. Are you a product of a long line of generational curses? There is hope. Did you once know God but turned your back on Him? There is hope. Have you been involved in worshiping other gods? There is hope. Are you involved in sins that the Bible calls an abomination to God? There is hope. Are you sick in body or losing your health and strength? There is hope. Are you depressed, anxious, worried, fearful, or believe all hope is gone? Take heart, believe in God’s faithfulness, and know that there is hope for your future.
Neither your past, nor current circumstances limit God. 1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins to God, He is faithful to FORGIVE AND CLEANSE us. Allow Him to forgive, cleanse and free you from whatever is holding you back, then keep hope alive as you pursue His purpose for your future!
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I praise You for calling me according to Your purpose. I ask that you help me overcome all the obstacles that keep me from realizing and living in Your plans. May Your hope arise within me as I faithfully pursue Your will. When the times are hard, please keep hope alive within my heart and mind as I pursue You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Apply It Today
If you have unrepentant sins in your life, go to God today and humbly confess those sins, turn from them, and seek His guidance. If you have confessed and turned from your sins, but the devil keeps using them to tell you there is no hope for your future, rebuke him now and seek God for peace in your mind, and keep hope alive.
