Paid In Full
Tuesday, April 11
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Hebrews 13:20-21
Devotion
When Jesus said, “It is finished” on the cross, the debt of sin was paid in full for those who trust and surrender to him. The accuser no longer has any valid basis for accusation. Curses and accusations do not come to rest on those covered by Jesus' blood.
Jesus' followers apply his blood by covenant confession of Jesus as their risen Lord and King. The accuser is cast down. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under the feet of those who trust him – those whose walk was healed by Jesus’ nail pierced feet. To “walk the walk”, one follows Jesus with feet fitted with the gospel of peace, seeking to be excellent in what is good and innocent of evil.
Today's Prayer
Dear God, your word tells me that eternal life is knowing you and knowing your Son Jesus Christ, whom you sent to be my Lord and Savior. Give me a closer walk with you I pray. That I may become more like you with every step I take. Amen!
