Servant Seeds

Sunday, August 20

Matthew 25:40 NIV
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
Devotion
We make a choice every single day: to glorify God or glorify ourselves. God gives us the choice to glorify Him and to serve and love Him by the way we serve and love His people. There are many testimonies of people planting a seemingly tiny seed that God grew to bring someone to Himself and radically change their lives. Whether it be a smile, a generous gift, fervent prayer, including someone, or sharing the testimony of God’s goodness, we have the opportunity to serve the Lord and bring more to His name until the whole world hears! God grants us the opportunity to be the reason someone believes in the goodness of God. This is an opportunity that should never be taken for granted.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Today I choose to glorify You in all I do. Help me to serve and love Your people, planting seeds of Your goodness wherever I go. Grant me the wisdom to see opportunities to make a difference, even in seemingly small acts. Use me to bring others closer to You, and may I never take this privilege for granted. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today
Think about the people in your life who need your love. Who is hurting around you? Who is an outcast? Who is crying out for help? Choose to serve them this week. Be sensitive to the Spirit and how He would lead you to plant seeds in their lives. Additionally, cover those people in prayer every day. Never minimize the power of prayer, and love those people wholeheartedly. You will be amazed at the way God will use you when you are willing and obedient.
