Tapped Out

Nehemiah 4:14 (NKJV)
“And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”
Devotion
A visible action was seen in the movie ‘Warrior’ (At The Movies Week 4), towards the end of the competition; tapping the shoulder. The tap acknowledges and means, I accept the opponent’s win.

In Christ, we may have the title, but no story yet. Keep persevering. Keep striving to trust God even when it seems there is no win yet, in sight.

Things do not seem as though they appear.

God desires that we trust Him and that we stand the full round. Be so determined to go the distance, even if it means standing with God by yourself, for yourself, your marriage, your spouse and for your children. And there may be times we must fight from a greater distance, if in the event you are overseas in the military, living in another state or in a prison cell. With God’s Holy Spirit, there is no distance. Everything is real time.

A man, whether single or married; a brother, a father, a husband or a friend will never get the win by his own strength. Not in a spiritual battle, and certainly not if you are trusting God for the winner takes all. The Win will be awarded only after the man relinquishes the years of pent-up fury, frustration, pain, abandonment, neglect, failure and unforgiveness in his own life. We see this depicted in this week’s movie, ‘Warrior’, when Tommy was attempting to make his brother suffer for the years of estrangement by his repeated blows.

Until at last, finally there is a giving in.

Give in, beloved. Tap the shoulder of the One Who tapped yours.

As the song writer wrote; “Forgiveness was bought with the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Come to the Altar, the Father’s Arms are open wide."

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,

It is my intention to go all the way with You; to whatever You call me to, and to wherever You lead. I truly want to always be the leader of my family and within my sphere of influence, in every situation. Lord, if I have any sin or weight that keeps me from being my best for You, please bring those to my attention so that I may confess and fight the good fight of faith to overcome them. If I hold any unforgiveness in my heart toward another, give me the strength and the wisdom to go to that person and make things right. Do a cleansing work in me, Father, so that You may use me to the fullest. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today
Get alone with God today as you pray the above prayer, then truly listen to His promptings and obey whatever He reveals to you. Allow Him to guide you to a life of freedom from the sins and weights that keep you bound.
