Psalm 144:15 (ESV)
“Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall! Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!”
Devotion
The longing for a blessed life is universal. We all desire peace, happiness, and fulfillment. Yet, the Bible teaches that true blessings come not from material wealth or worldly success but from a life that is centered on God.

Psalm 144:15 tells us that the people who are truly blessed are those whose God is the Lord. This verse highlights the profound truth that knowing God, loving God, living for God, and serving God are the foundations of a blessed life.

Knowing God: To be truly blessed, we must first know God intimately. This isn't just knowing about Him but having a personal relationship with Him. As we grow in our knowledge of God through His Word and through prayer, we begin to experience His presence in every area of our lives.

Loving God: The greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). When our lives are rooted in love for God, everything else falls into place.

Living for God: When we know and love God, our natural response is to live for Him. This means surrendering our own plans and desires and allowing Him to guide our steps. Living for God involves seeking His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33) and making His glory our ultimate goal.

Serving God: A blessed life is one that is poured out in service to God and to others. Jesus modeled this perfectly when he said that he came not to be served but to serve (Matthew 20:28). When we serve God with our time, talents, and resources, we reflect His love and grace to the world around us. Serving God allows us to participate in His work, and in doing so, we experience the deep satisfaction that comes from living out our God-given purpose.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the blessings in my life. Thank You for my family. Thank You for Your material provision – my daily bread and more. Thank You for Free Chapel. Thank You for the Bible and the privilege of prayer and worship. But most of all I thank You for Your Son Jesus who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, bled for my healing, died on a cross, and rose from the dead. Thank You that the death and resurrection of Jesus allow me to dwell in Your presence. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today
We cannot provide the Lord’s presence ourselves. If we are going to carry the presence, the provision, and the joy of the Lord, it involves a sacrifice of time. Each day, giving up some of your “me” time to read or hear His word, pray, and worship. This brings the anointing and the joy back. If you regularly drive alone, try using some of that time to pray aloud and to worship with music. There are various ways to focus on God, but we need to do it.
