The Dream Is Alive

Genesis 37:19 MEV
“They said to one another, ‘The master of the dreams comes!’”
Devotion
Joseph had dreams that he knew were from God and joyously shared them with his brothers. However, his brothers did not share in his joy. They were already jealous of him because their father favored him, and his dreams revealed that God also favored him. Not only did Joseph face hatred from his brothers, but he also had to endure being mocked, thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, and falsely imprisoned. But Joseph always remembered and held onto his “God dreams,” and, in time, he did live out those dreams.

God's dreams can come in many different forms: a dream in the dark of night, a vision, or as a prompting in our hearts. Maybe God gave you one or more dreams in your past, and you’ve lost hope because you have not seen them come to fruition. Others may have placed doubt in your heart because of their words or actions. But if God gives you the dream, keep it alive! If you wrote it down, read and reread it often. Ask God to help you see that the dream is still alive! Press into Him and His Word and get ready for God to bring your dream(s) to fulfillment!

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for the dreams you have placed in my heart. Thank you for those times I have felt your presence so strongly that I could see the dream taking place in my mind’s eye. Lord, I know You never kill a dream You give. I ask that you help me sense and know that the dream is alive, enlarge my territory as needed, and bring that dream into fruition that You may be glorified! In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today
What dream has God given to you? Habakkuk 2:2 says to write it down and make it plain. If you haven’t done so, prayerfully write down every detail you can remember. Ask God to prepare you to walk in that dream, then do your part to draw closer to Him so that when His time is right, you will be ready to live out the dream. If it involves others, pray for God to prepare them as well. Keep the dream alive.
