The Ever Present Spirit of God

Psalm 139:7-8 NKJV
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
Devotion
Even the best of relationships subtly, over years, can get off balance, and not be Christ centered. The Holy Spirit is ever present and His guidance should be followed as He will give wisdom in each situation. Recognizing that the Holy Spirit is an actual person present in the room, and responding to His presence in our lives, our choices, our conduct, we can regain focus on Christ, and keep Him at the center of relationships. The Holy Spirit is ever present to guide and lead us. Psalm 16:11 says, “You have made known to me the path of life. In thy presence is fullness of Joy.”
Think about how this realization can change any situation. For example, knowing that God is present we know that every knee has to bow (Romans 14:11). How does your boldness in the Lord change in knowing He is right there beside you? Is there not peace in knowing that the Holy Spirit is present? Does fear dissipate in His presence? How has the Holy Spirit changed a situation in your life in knowing that He is present with you?
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you that we cannot hide from your presence. Let us live our lives knowing fully your presence is with us and let us respond to your loving presence always, living our lives in full transparency to you. Guide our steps and lead us in the path of Life. Thank you for the fullness of your joy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
