The Sound Of The Spirit
Tuesday, May 30
Genesis 1:2 NKJV
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Devotion
Imagine being in a desolate place where the air was perfectly still. Stagnant water, depth unknown, as lifeless as death. Suddenly, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit appear. Above the still water, the Spirit hovers, covering the deep, stirring the water to life. Just like the eagle stirring its nest in Deuteronomy 32:11, the Triune God turns the dark to light, the dead brought to life by the wind of His breath! This Divine work, done through His Word, and by His Spirit, the giver of life.
Do you hear the sound of the Spirit? The Spirit blows where He wills. Moving us, stirring us, placing us perfectly. His tailwind can propel us forward, a headwind can slow us down. God is in that wind! When we surrender, and give the Spirit room to do whatever He wants, we will be dancing in the river of living water that He created specifically for us. Our fountain will never run dry. Our joy and praise will crest like waves of His life giving water, as we worship Him.
When the winds get too strong, we can raise our arms toward Heaven, and just twirl around like a child, praising with pure joy, and the Spirit will renew and refresh us, that we may persevere.
Todays Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I praise and adore you! The thought of you and your awesome wonder overwhelms my soul. You are mighty, you are great and greatly to be praised! Thank you for being my all in all. The God who speaks life and turns everything around for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
