We are bombarded by voices telling us what to do. Jesus invites us to listen to his voice. As we offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, Jesus empowers us by his Spirit to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We can offer our ears to Jesus as instruments of righteousness – rejecting gossip, worldly advice, fear, and false revelation as we test everything with Scripture.

As we learn to test and approve God's will for our own lives, we can eagerly desire the gift of prophecy for the strengthening, encouraging, and comfort of others also. But to speak life to others, first we have to hear God's still small voice in Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I hear you calling me and I say “here I am”. Use me for your glory, send me and I will go, speak through me and I will deliver your message of truth. I give you my heart, mind and soul. I say yes to your will for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Ask God to show you what's keeping you from hearing Jesus' voice as often as he'd like. Distractions? Disobedience? Lack of discipline? Too little time in his Word? Not asking daily?
