Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NKJV)
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Devotion
Growing up, some of us came from a Christian background and had parents or grandparents who continually prayed over us. Some may have embraced the Christian lifestyle, while others may have longed for a time when they could make their own choices rather than adhering to Biblical beliefs. Whichever path you took, whether you have returned to Christ or are in the process of doing so, it's clear that you are seeking Him. Welcome back!

As Christian adults, it is now our responsibility to raise our children or teach our grandchildren the morals and values of a Biblical lifestyle. We are likely doing our best to set an example for them. And who can even count the hours we spend praying for our young ones to walk in God's ways all the days of their lives?

Even when we are sincerely doing our best, sometimes they may take the wrong path. It can be heart-wrenching when they make bad choices, and our hearts ache because they are straying from Him. However, we don't need to succumb to the worry and fear that can follow. As we continue to lovingly lead them, we must entrust them to His care and keep praying for them, even more fervently than before. Remember, every seed you plant today will yield a harvest tomorrow. Keep being an example, keep guiding, and keep praying.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You for giving me the opportunity to accept the salvation that Jesus so selflessly offered as He suffered and died for my sins. I ask that You help me to be a true Christian example for those who may follow my lead. I earnestly pray that I never become a stumbling block to anyone. My greatest request is that You lead, guide, and direct my children and all future generations from my bloodline to wholeheartedly follow You throughout their lives. Help them to immediately recognize the enemy's tactics and run from them. I ask that You touch them so profoundly that they can never deny You or Your ways. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today
If you have a child or grandchild who has taken a wrong turn, fervently lift him/her up in prayer daily. Ask God to show you when and how to address each situation that may arise. Seek His guidance on when to speak and when to remain silent, and pray, allowing Him to work. He will guide you if you ask and listen.
