Trust Jesus With The Timing In The Healing Process

Sunday, May 12

Mark 8:22-26 (NIV)
“They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”
Devotion
Why didn't Jesus immediately heal the blind man? For that matter, during his earthly ministry, why didn't he heal the man lame from birth who was at the temple gate every day begging? (Acts 3:2) Why doesn't Jesus immediately provide the physical, emotional, or spiritual healing we are seeking? Those questions may remain unanswered.

More practical questions to ask are:
 1) Lord, what is your path to healing here?
 2) Lord, what are your discipleship goals in the healing process?
 3) Lord, what are you willing to do for me?
 And
 4) Lord, how do I maintain my healing once you provide it?

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I confess that I sometimes seek Your hand to come into situations in my life, but I fail to do my part by learning from the circumstance. Each time I pray for You to “do something” please help me to remember and ask the questions above, seeking not only what I prayed for, but for what I should learn in the process. Thank You for taking the time to grow me, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Apply It Today
Sometimes when we are waiting on God, He is actually waiting on us. If you feel you’re in the waiting, get alone with God and write down your answers to the questions above. Pray and seek His instructions for each of them, then pursue Him with all your heart.
