Unity In Diversity
Wednesday, June 14
Galatians 3:28 NKJV
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Devotion
We are each born in a time and place of God’s choosing. (Acts 17:26) We have different appearances, cultural characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses. We have different roles on earth and in the family of God. This is for our Father’s pleasure and purpose! (Philippians 2:13)
If we live in obedience to the Father, then we have fellowship with one another. (1 John 1:7) Joined in twos or threes, small groups or churches, we are to work in unity to be a blessing on the earth as the Holy Spirit leads. Unity is based on being in right standing with God. Sin and gossip divide. We are to accept differences in race, background, style, and strengths. God does not want clones; He wants crews of individuals working together with complementary strengths.
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Make me a beacon of peace. Help me to appreciate the beauty in diversity around me and to embrace the strengths of those you have placed in my crew. For the wrongs I see in others, help me to be a sister and a brother’s keeper, to lead them to the truth at all times. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Apply It Today
Accept as a brother or sister in Christ those who are following Jesus in holiness. Decide to avoid gossip. Let go of superficial bias. If you do not have a “crew,” ask God to bring you together with one or more people with whom you can be stronger and more effective as you follow Jesus. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
