Your Hope

John 11:25 (NKJV)
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
Devotion
When you have trials in your life, is your hope in Christ or something else? Do you have hope in the One who can deliver you? Jesus is the only one with the power to bring liberty to the captives and set the prisoner free. Having received such a hope, we ought not keep it to ourselves.
Jesus chose to die a cruel death on the cross for you so that you could have spiritual freedom in this life and afterward, everlasting life. In Jesus you have forgiveness of sins and mercy. No other god or religion can solve your sin problem. Religious leaders have come and gone, but Jesus lives!
During the Easter Production sermon, Pastor Franklin gave a testimony of encountering a man in the hospital who had just received news that he was quickly dying. Even though he was there for another reason, Pastor Franklin was faithful to share Christ. The man invited his help and prayed to come to Jesus. On the one hand, it was a stark reminder not to wait until it's too late. You don't know how many days you have left. From another perspective, who had been praying for that man that God would intervene so mercifully? It was an unexpected, divine appointment. Jesus saves!
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the death and resurrection of Jesus. Thank You that Jesus has the power to raise me from the dead, not just in the future, but now. I confess I often pretend to have more faith than I have – giving the “right” Christian answers while the trust in my heart and displayed in my life lag behind. Help me be faithful in reading and hearing Your word, and as I do, please make Your promise true in my heart that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
